*Official* England in the West Indies 2024

I hope Curran aspires to higher than top 7 levels with his batting. I read a piece a few weeks ago where he described himself as 'a bit gutted' that he wasn't considered to replace Stokes in the SL tests. I suppose some would see that as presumptious, but I was happy to read that he was thinking along those lines, and that he hadn't given up on the idea of playing red-ball cricket for England.
Surely he will have to play more first class cricket and succeed to at least suggest he might be a worthwhile pick. I guess the issue is turning down IPL.

218-5. Good knocks from Salt, Buttler, Curran and especially Bethell. The highest chase here in 192, I think. Turner in for Archer, but the Windies need to go some to win this.

England don’t look on it at all here and some strange bowling choices. Overton should have bowled by now.
Doubt this goes 18 overs at the rate, spinners bowling dross.

Weird match that one. Some amazing batting by both sides, mixed with some terrible bowling and fielding. It was certainly entertaining!

Indeed. But if I'm reading between the lines correctly, Curran may be coming to the same conclusion nowadays.
Could he return to test cricket as a 6-7 batter who bowls some decent overs as a fifth bowler? Not sure. He'd need to play in the CC and average 50-odd over a couple of years.

Today's probably the last time we will see Hetmyer in WI colors. He's been poor since his return. He opted out of some tours as well like he's some big cricketer only to come back and make a massive blunder of opportunities presented.

Like we say in the Caribbean, 'he eating good'

I doubt whether it would take a couple of years if Stokes calls it a day after the next Ashes.

Definitely people are getting fed up of him now. Rutherford is a better option for us, any day
