Unquestionably not picking the one world class bowler we have was a significant issue. I still can't get over how dumb that is.

If you're a Sri Lankan opening or top order batsman and you see Matt Henry isn't playing but Southee is, you're over the moon.

There are a couple of those, Mathews and Chandimal who you wouldn't have thought would have that much longer left. It is more that they have enough players of a decent enough and younger age as well as good enough pace bowling options that they should at least be more competitive at home and away. I will only say that they should really bemoan their 2nd test performance in England at Lord's. Their play from late on day 1 of that game was so poor against a very nervy England team.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
L/O starts this weekend. Two back to back T20Is then two days breath before the 1st ODI.

Glad we've got some fresh faces in the squad and keen to see how they go. Literally hope everyone gets a game...except maybe Nicholls :ph34r:

I don't mind Nicholls that much. He was a star during the Lockie's Legends tour of Bangladesh, & with him out of the Test side maybe he sees opportunities in white ball teams.

Normally I’d say a white ball series like this is pointless but since it may lead to the debut of the best young cricketer I’ve ever played alongside, this one is different.

The prophecy will be fulfilled.

I will say, the playing strip is probably up there as my favourite of all time. Or at least the only one I've ever seen that I think I'd genuinely wear in public. Classy.

Good to see SteveNZ XI member Z Foulkes do well, not much else to write home about
