*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

King Kane

International Regular
So now we waste a review on one that wasn't out, I would prefer we review than not in this situation though, better to roll the dice than die wondering.

Whatever it takes!!!
Another noticeable thing is how the Indian batsmen are either going too hard or too soft at the ball. A LOT of the singles the Kiwis took were hit just at the right pace to avoid the guys lurking around cover and midwicket and go to the deep, without ever being so hard as to force a nick, either inside or outside edge, to carry to a close in fielder. We have been pretty block/bash, that is another thing that has cost us and where they have beaten us well.

Moss

International Captain
We'd bowled a whole pile of rubbish for half an hour or so there so that breakthrough very much timely. Think I would still like to see a short spell from O'Rourke attacking the stumps looking for variable bounce
Latham really has this willingness to overbowl one or two bowlers in the quest for wickets. It was Henry-O’Rourke in Bangalore, Santner in Pune. In both cases ends justified the means, but it’s notable that both Henry and Santner missed the subsequent tests. Something that needs a rethink i feel.

No one is completely comfortable defending here. But it was the commitment to the attacking shots and the measured strike rotation that stood out about the best Kiwi batters here. They have also been far better cutting off the singles from midwicket and covers.
