It's just another reason why the night-watchman decision was so insane. You shouldn't be sending your #11 in at 4 when it means your #10 will then be someone with six Test centuries. If they wanted to have a night-watchman last night to protect Kohli they should have just made it one of the allrounders.
Shouldve just been Ashwin. He's not likely to get more than a 20 odd these days anyway.

Yeah if Kohli insisted on the night watchman that's what I would have done too. But if he wasn't keen and Sundar or Jadeja were then meh. The specialist bowlers shouldn't get that gig when the normal lineup has an allrounder at 9.

Went a bit wider on the crease, got it to drift, turn and bounce...Ashwin played a horrible stabby attempt at a forward defence but there's not a lot you can do there other than hope you miss it

Whatever it takes!!!
Batting order being shuffled around this much all series is ridiculous. I don't care what happens, there is no scenario where sarfaraz batting 8 makes any sense.
Him batting 7 is fine AFAIC. Jaddu is more than capable of batting 6 and if they feel the tactical advantage of having a leftie there is important, and this entire innings, it seems to have been, its fine.

The Bengaluru test was definitely stupid though. He should never be batting top 4, Sarfraz. Ideally 6 is his spot. maybe 5 or 7 when we move the order around tactically to have the left-right combo going, but that is it.

Yeah it’s probably the dumbest night watchman decision of all time. Siraj burning a review was just the cherry on top.

I think someone really hates Sodhi. Give him 6 overs the whole innings then bring him on against the set left hander with 9 down who is always going to attack.

2 run-outs on this track is absolutely criminal.

The strange thing about this pitch is it never really keeps low in Mumbai. Wonder the heavy monsoon made it difficult for them to get much sun on it. I have never seen a red soil track keep low and by this much, esp. of the short of good length area.
