Rohit isn't helping at all with his fields. Easy singles all over the place
Yeah watching with my mum right now and constantly surprised at how many singles they're giving Latham in particular.

It's very poor captaincy because Latham in particular is well known to get bogged down at times and struggles when he's not rotating the strike.

Whatever it takes!!!
You gotta love the gambhiring for India to lose from the usual sad salty here but gotta take my hat off to FP. That is some first rate gambhiring when your side is 1-0 and 280 runs ahead on a turner where the opponent were just bowled out for 150 earlier today.

This is done and dusted now. I did hope for a better bowling and fielding performance but as is the case with Rohit era, we lose our heads very quickly when few thigns dont go our way. NZ to make 260 here and win by a 150.

It wouldn't shock me if India chased 300 to win, though they look pretty out of kilter right now so not expected.

More like 350+ though and that's into the territory of 4th innings chases where you're never really winning, just not lost yet.

Turner the best of the lot, by a distance.
Turner was great back in the 70s, I remember Turner returning to NZ in the brown and beige in the 80s ODUs against Australia and he wasn't that great,

He was almost as bad as Howarth or Jeff Crowe,, Martin Crowe was my batting hero as a kid back in the 80s and into the 90s, he's still the best batsman.

NZ seems to be playing this just about perfectly tbh. Scoring at a very good clip in the circumstances and not letting the bowlers really settle on a helpful deck.

India could still easily win this. Ajaz and Southee are over the hill, Santner surely can't get more than a 3-fer again, O'Rourke inexperienced, and Phillips still learning his craft.
Yeah they still *can* win, but how much of your hard earned would you like to bet on them?
