*OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

I realise it's their game but seriously what's with all the premeditation, at least see the line of the ball before you commit to that shot
I mean Duckett played the pitch accordingly.

You’ll never see me giving it the ‘play sensibly’ line routinely, but a bit of awareness here and there is not unreasonable

Shades of that terrible session Aus put in at Delhi(?) last Indian tour when they did the sweep-a-thon and lost the match in a session.

Always mad to watch these sort of games on a pitch like this. Feels a lottery though with bounce. Scrambled heads now for England. 150 all out I reckon.
We're absolutely horrendous on pitches that turn at all.

I'm fearing this is going to be like India in 20/21 where we make a bunsen look a different pitch when we're bowling.

Hope I'm wrong and it's just a pure lottery for both sides.

Oh yeah I'm talking about Brook and Pope basically. Premeditated that same shot thinking the line would be wide, got completely surprised by the quicker straight one

I was agreeing with you, probably wasn’t clear.

Wouldn’t bet against Crawley and Duckett batting again by close the way this is shaping up.

That Duckett dismissal might **** them mentally though. He looked to be completely comfortable - albeit taking a few risks here and there - and had a method that worked well. But getting one that rolls on the floor just puts the fear of god into everyone

Having said that, it might be a case of trying to get runs before you get one like Duckett did.

Reminds me of Stokes’s dismissal in the fourth test against India

Shame for our batsmen to miss out on what Pakistan is usually like given they play Australia&India more than other teams but this is still poor application.

2 day test.

Not sure how Pakistan benefit from this (financially or from a cricket perspective).
To be fair everyone asked what's the thinking from Pakistan when they prepared their natural wickets. Turners are unnatural in Pakistan so a volatile result was likely when they set out to make one.
