Last summer was also rather dour weather after 2022&2023 were both very good.

NZ was still flat in that time but NZ was also flat even in the height of the bowling era which is why only their batsmen didn't suffer average deterioration along with facing weak opposition more than average.

You had blamed the toss a lot in the previous match for England's loss though apparently being a much superior side to Pakistan. Now that they have won the toss, if they don't win this match, you need to accept that they are clearly inferior to Pakistan.

I mean that Duckett ball was no good at all but apart from that it's been a pretty unremarkable slow turner. That one wicket aside, none of the other batsmen should be looking at the pitch so much as they are looking at a mirror if they're looking to pin blame for their dismissals - even Root was mostly down to his own slight error in judgement more than wild misbehaviour from the pitch.

What was wrong with the pitch in the last game? This pitch has mostly been fine too. Most of their dismissals this game weren’t due to unplayable balls. Duckett is the only one who got an unplayable ball this game.

Pitch broke mid inning last game, England failed to adapt and lost 3-4 wickets in quick succession if I remember correctly.
