I think batsmen earn the right to be given chances and then should be dropped if they fail to capitalise , also the chances given must be fair , you cannot give Sarfraz 2 tests in alien conditions and then drop him if he fails but give Gill two whole calender years to average 36 or pick Rahul cause of one good knock every 10 innings. Sarfraz averages 69 in FC cricket and 4 50's in 7 Test innings , whatever flaws he has he is damn good at being prolific in whatever he has faced so far.
