Too early for the ball to reverse.

I think any reverse will happen at around the 40th over.

Still makes sense for Stokes to bowl some overs though

Sign of the pitch being a pudding there - long half volley, should easily have been put away, but wasn't timed well enough to go to the rope.
If it does turn into a pudding it wouldn't be that surprising because it was very slow when it was new. The ones that really spit tend to have a bit more pace and bounce to start.

Yeah this is reminding me of those UAE pitches more than anything else.

I'll be very interested to see how England bat on this if it does turn out that way. Those pitches tripped up a few visiting sides who tried to push the tempo too hard (McCullum himself being one famous exception)

Bashir bowling fairly well here. Better than the first Test
Maybe Stokes being out there helps him. I remember when Cook gave up and Root took over the spinner seemed more in the game for a while as Cook was negative with the spinner once Swann retired then Root went defensive too as time went on.

Get the impression Stokes won't ever do that. Always looking to attack.

Eh, I think they'll be fine. They're all strong players in low bouncing conditions.

Scoring quickly without seemingly trying has become a real feature recently. I think they will be fine.
