Dont think pak management will drop ayub. Does that mean babar bats at 3 he will start crying
Babar doesn't looks like in any position to negotiate.
There are reports that Shan might be replaced mid way through the series.
Ayub is easily droppable & the shot he played in second inns is perfect catalyst. Kamran Ghulam will come it is inevitable at this point.

Strokes could be really destory whether morale left in Pakistan if he comes in top 3 but who does he replace? Pope?
In a normal team, you’d think Pope would be the most vulnerable as his form is…inconsistent, but I don’t think he will lose his place, I think we’ll see Pope and then Stokes wait until he can bowl. Be handy if he can bowl in the second Test with the tight turnaround and with Stone unlikely to be around, it potentially leaves only Potts available to slot in for someone

Yeah but not at this level. They would alternate between periods of military dictatorship with a decent economy and periods of haphazard democracy with a poor economy. Now the economy's completely stalled, the military is vastly unpopular, secessionist movements are springing up.

Plus cricket has become more professional and the rest of the world has moved on.
world sport has become more professional. not just cricket

Shan would only be replaced after series is over if they do it in middle it would further demoralise team but knowing pcb clowns anything is possible and yes ayub doesn't look like test class batsmen

Those guys are still coming through - Shaheen, Babar, Hasan Ali, Nasir Jamshed, Kamran Akmal, Yasir Shah etc etc all had good starts. But they no longer are able to kick on and have decade long careers.

In the modern age of analytics and match ups if you aren't constantly upskilling, your every weakness will be found out and preyed upon. Back in the day when cricket was less professional and had to do with natural talent, Pak could get by.

But in this professional age of workout regimens, data etc etc only teams with the proepr infrastructure can succeed. It's no coincidence that the best three teams in all formats are the big 3.

Pak cricketers come in, have 2-3 good years - get injured and then come back a shadow of themselves.

India also had that issue back in the day with guys like Irfan, RP, Munaf etc. Thankfully the infrastructure has improved a lot so that guys like Bumrah, Kuldeep etc can come back from injuries/wilderness.
Shaheen is particularly disappointing, mainly because it feels avoidable, fast bowlers are precious commodities, you need to protect them, and he’s never really recovered from that injury he got rushed back from

Some circuitous, self-serving logic here lol. So your batsmen get bowled out twice on a featherbed but it's only the bowlers that come in for stick? That's not a 82-6 pitch any way you cut it. You don't get to put your collective batting hands up just because your bowlers failed to exploit "scoreboard pressure". Not sure such a thing even exists on wickets like these. This match by rights should've been the most boring draw ever with your batsmen swatting flies on their way to 300-2.

Scoreboard pressure is a thing, but honestly, when Pakistan came to bat for their second innings, were England favourites for the win? Lasting 4 and a bit sessions on that wicket shouldn’t be too onerous, the lower middle order showed them how to do it
