The Records and Milestones thread

Seen this stat and not sure if it's correct, but utterly daft if it is:

England's total is the 4th highest on record, but not even in the top 1,000 of longest (overs faced). Have there really been over 1,000 innings of 150 overs or more from 2,553 Tests?
Yes.

Most recently the SL 602/5 vs NZ

Thank you, I can never quite get Statsguru to do what I want. So it is a pretty ridiculous stat.
Its one of the quirks of lower over rates and higher run rates than before.

For instance, its one of just 9 innings (out of 635) of 500+ where the run rate is over 5.

All 9 have happened this century, with 4 from this Bazball era.

Yes, it's 1084th in the list of longest innings (includes things like 130 8-ball overs as longer).

Ftr there have been 8841 Test team innings, so about one in every eight is over 150 overs - just not any more

Three of the longer innings were under 200.

If Brook scores 125 in his next innings he'd reach 2000 test runs in 32 innings, matching George Headley as fastest cricketing mortal to the landmark (Bradman took 22).

Sorry, that’s a failed stat as Williamson is in third place. Needs to be specifically against the best ever Indian attack in India otherwise it’s invalid. Helpfully, I suspect Root does pretty well on that measure.
