You should have Moeen Ali in there who has more Test wickets than a lot of those mentioned.

One from leftfield who hasn't played a whole lot of Tests but has taken heaps of FC wickets would be Harmer.

Did think about him...and he does have a lot of test wickets but his avg of 37 doesn't do him much good. Also, I have Leach at no. 20 and I think that he is a better spinner than Ali.
Someone like Axar has played a lot less than him but it is because we have Ashwin and Jadeja. Axar has a great FC record and when he has played he ran through the Eng side (on some pretty spin friendly wickets tbf). I highly doubt that Ali would have been able to do that though.

Quite an achievement for Moeen to take 200 plus wickets when most of the time he wasn't playing on spin friendly wickets. What's Axar like outside India?

Axar doesn't play outside India because we have Ashwin and Jadeja, not because he is not good enough. Ali's 200 wkts is a great achievement ofc but it's more a function of playing that many games and bowling that many overs, owing partially to the lack of great spinners produced recently by England. I accept that Axar doesn't have an away record that can be scrutinized, hence I've only put him 14th. But to be the lead spinner in a series and almost single handedly dismantle an entire test batting line up deserves appreciation

So he's a good spinner on spin friendly pitches against batsmen who don't play spin very well. He's getting nowhere near my Top 20 with only that in his CV.

Moeen made Kohli look stupid more than once....

He is genuinely good somewhere, not being **** everywhere.
