reckon sa would be number one easily if they all hit form at once

now jadeja and ashwin have been brilliant for two straight years but it was evident that in the oz series they can be challenged if they're out of form (jadeja still was brilliant but ashwin was down on)

I would take very good at home and good overseas over brilliant at home and useless overseas

It's high time for India's bowlers to perform out of Asia and this is their chance

They won't though. Everyone knows it. It seems as inevitable as Australia collapsing with the bat at an important time in a series. Indias bowlers won't perform, they'll get flogged. It's what they do.

NZ is better than SA
New Zealand aren't. They had never won a series vs South Africa home or away.

Not to mention that NZ lost 2-0 at home to Australia, while only narrowly managing to draw 1-1 at home vs England, when they won the 2nd test by a run (however lost 3-0 away in Eng).

NZ destroyed SA 2-0 at home. Before you say it's a weakened side. The fact that SA let it get to that stage shows they don't really care about tests and they will continue to slide. They also got really lucky vs the West Indies in the last tour ..

Atleast NZ have won World Test Championship, only Bedingham would get into New Zealand's top 7 and then guys like Jamieson and O'Rourke would not lose their place either , only Rabada and Maharaj would get into their bowling .

Drawing at home to England is a very good result , South Africa have been pummeled by England home and away in recent times ..

Also SA's record in the subcontinent in last decade is very poor, India , Pakistan and Sri Lanka have all comfortably beaten SA and I think if SA tour BD , BD can be favorites for that series on current form with Spin trio of Shakib , Mehidy and Taijul ..NZ atleast compete in subcontinent .

NZ have some emerging seamers like Will O'Rourke and Ben Sears but they would have to improve a lot to fill the hole left by Boult and Wagner. The continued guaranteed presence of Southee doesn't help NZ's cause either.
NZ strongest Top 7 recently played

1.Conway
2.Latham
3.Williamson
4.Ravindra
5.Mitchell
6.Phillips
7.Blundell

Bro be honest how many SA batters are getting into this side ? Bedingham only because you can't play Bavuma as opener and NZ's 3, 4, 5 & 7 are locks compared to SA

Rabada
Jansen
Nortje
Ngidi
Burger
Coetzee

This pace attack is second to none.
Maharaj is also the better spinner. And Jamieson hardly plays. So only Matt Henry would make the SA squad from the NZ bowlers.

SA bowling >> NZ bowling at the moment.
NZ batting >> SA batting at the moment.

Bowling wins more games. Hence why SA managed to win a test in England despite the ordinary batting. NZ didn't due to bowling as they couldn't bowl out England. As for WTC, NZ won with Boult and Wagner who don't play anymore. Also NZ happened to lose a Test match at home to Bangladesh as well.

Despite SA throwing a series vs NZ earlier this year, they still are ranked 4th ahead of NZ. There is a reason for that. Results. 104 points to 96 points.
