I watched a fair bit of the Somerset / Surrey match on the stream and was really impressed with Vaughan. His control was excellent and he actually turns it.

The NCCA Twenty20 finals day was all abandoned without a ball being bowled

Semi finals were settled by a "Coin Toss"

Staffordshire beat Berkshire
Cumbria beat Oxfordshire

The Final between Staffordshire & Cumbria couldn't get started. No Trophy would be rewarded for this in 2024.

Bizarrely, the current England spin incumbent is likely to be third choice spinner for his county come start of next season.
This is a very valid point, how does Bashir get a game for Somerset next season? His best chance might be Leach usurping him as England's number 1 again, which could easily happen this Winter. Vaughan will clearly play as an all rounder - is he an opener or is he filling in for this round of matches?

There was never any chance of play last Sunday in Chester. Waste of everyone's time.

I don't think England management will fancy Leach in England unless of course they play on pitches that will deteriorate rather rapidly. Given that India are coming next summer, that is highly unlikely, nay suicidal to even be thinking that would be the way to go in terms of pitch preparation.

As I glanced at this I thought for a second Lancs had signed him
The County website may be trumpetting their cricket academy (are they desperately trying to say everything is looking good for the club's future? that they are doing something right??) but Rob Lord's determination and success seems to have passed most people by. He left the Lancashire Academy in 2019.

Almost a quarter of the graduates to County Cricket of the Club's academy never made the Lancashire first team.
