*Official* Australia limited overs tour of Scotland and England 2024

Kenneth Viljoen

International Debutant
Why does Bartlett get dropped so often ?
Not good enough to make the odi squad with a single digit bowling average , and now dropped here lol

King Kane

International Debutant
Another duck for the Aussie wonderboy McGurk, unlucky though with a great catch from the Scottish wonderboy McMullen.

There's been so many upsets from associates in world events that we forget a lot of them are glorified grade cricketers.

But Brandon McMullen looks every bit an international cricketer, and a good one. Class bat and while his gentle outswingers don't look like they should be effective, he keeps taking poles
Yes he absolutely looks the real deal

Would be gobsmacked if he's not playing county cricket regularly next season

Hardie and Connolly both batting all-rounders that they've shoved into the team basically as front-line bowlers. Very strange, Connolly especially. Wonder if they'll continue this selection policy against England

Hope not. Hazlewood is supposed to be back so I'd think Hazlewood, Bartlett, Abbott and Zampa will take up the 4 bowler slots

He’s going backwards and the problem is that he’s got a lot of players calling him the next big thing so isn’t changing anything
He averages less than 20 in first class cricket. And barely 20 in T20s which is supposed to suit him, and that's boosted by the latest IPL on concrete pitches that might as well have been hitting off a tee. The media obsession with him is absurd. He sucks

They're talking about him like he's the replacement for Warner already when Matt Short is right here and orders of magnitude better

I'm pretty shocked at the silver spoon he's been given when he averages 18.96 in FC cricket. This isn't a couple of matches but is 16 games, or basically 2 seasons.

He has only 2 hundreds in 93 games at FC, List A & T20 level

Speaking of Matt Short where is he?

Top scorer in the big bash last year nearly 200 runs ahead of 2nd. Not the worst of bowlers either.
Would of thought this was the perfect time to get him involved in the setup.

Don’t doubt that he’s got talent but there’s very little chance of him being consistently successful with his approach

Australia would be better off having Cummins open the batting if all he’s going to do is slog at everything as at least Pat can bowl & field
