Kiddo could get five here.

Vishwa getting out lbw from a left armer over the wicket on review has some irony to it.

Just watching Hull for the first time. He has an action like Mohammad Amir, except with ganglier limbs.

3fer and counting for josh hull. Maybe vibes based selections are the way? Picked the second worst performing seamer across country cricket over the past few years because he's left arm, hits decent pace and tall, and now he's shredding sri lanka.

Bowled well against the same (admittedly very undercooked!) opposition at Worcester for the Lions, maybe he’s one of those that looks better the higher the level he’s at? Or maybe it’s that he’s still in the embryonic stages of his pro career and the more he plays, the more his first-class record will revert to something more normal?

Haha this is a bit much.

He definitely looks better than his record - but you'd expect that given how bad it is - but getting two batsmen and one tailender out while going at 5po isn't really "shredding" anything.

Don’t want to get into a lengthy debate but I think calling these selections ‘vibes based’ probably makes it sound like a lot less thought goes into them than is the case.

You’d have to say they’re pretty bloody good at it whichever term you want to use for it, mind you. Though Hull not bagging 5 is a black mark in fairness

The question has to be asked ..

Has the gap closed between County and Test cricket? Almost every debutant England try have found it easy at Test level

Not sure about that, think the main thing is that the calendar is absolutely chocker which has meant that some of the best players from teams like West Indies and Sri Lanka aren’t even trying to get into the Test team, and they don’t get enough time to adapt to the conditions compared to yesteryear when visiting teams would get at least 2 FC games against counties or a Lions select
