This exactly, the difference between 86 and 100 is not that much in the grand scheme of things, and I feel with openers especially it’s about giving the team a platform, either by sticking around and getting the ball soft or in Duckett’s case, getting the bowling team on the back foot by scoring quickly

Nasser and Broad talking sense and saying there was no danger to the batsmen, they should still be out there.

If the batsmen were getting hit because they were struggling to see the ball then go off but Pope and Brook were in no trouble at all.
