Have Hardly seen Greenidge lose a poll.
Greenidge seems to be rated higher than almost every batsmen to average in the 45-49 rangeHave Hardly seen Greenidge lose a poll.
I guess that's justified as he had to face the new ball and averaged 51 runs in 10 years, then experienced a very Greenidgesque downfall.Greenidge seems to be rated higher than almost every batsmen to average in the 45-49 range
That shows why we probably shouldn’t rate players until their careers are over. Average dropped from 51 to 44!I guess that's justified as he had to face the new ball and averaged 51 runs in 10 years, then experienced a very Greenidgesque downfall.
Yeah, if we are going only by average. That shows why we probably shouldn’t rate players until their careers are over. Average dropped from 51 to 44!
Don't think I have seen this one. Steve Smith at 52 alone should be enough to discard the list as a whole.Flower ranks higher on PEWS rankings too

This was at the end of 2018. It’s probably changed quite a bit since then. It does a decent job of adjusting for conditions.Don't think I have seen this one. Steve Smith at 52 alone should be enough to discard the list as a whole.
Fair enough, but also Kohli ahead of Smith. Guess that's because of 2 points difference in longevity. This was at the end of 2018. It’s probably changed quite a bit since then. It does a decent job of adjusting for conditions.
Kohli has had much tougher home pitches than Smith which could explain that.Fair enough, but also Kohli ahead of Smith. Guess that's because of 2 points difference in longevity.
Good point. Smith's then average of 61 drops down to an adjusted average of 55 for that reason. Away average should be given importance tho.Kohli has had much tougher home pitches than Smith which could explain that.
I don’t think it cares more about away average than home average which is usually why Smith is rated higher by most people I think.
Top 40 still is a bit low imo. Think they wouldn't be deprived of any longevity points to be ranked that low.I feel all of the fab 4 should be at least in the top 40 by now. Hayden being at 93 is funny.
Until 2018, I would say Kohli vs Smith was actually quite debatable and Kohli had more great away series.Fair enough, but also Kohli ahead of Smith. Guess that's because of 2 points difference in longevity.
