***Official*** England vs Sri Lanka 21st August-10th September 2024

King Kane

Yes indeed, players with a batting average approaching the Dons should not be batting at seven.
Some guys bat better lower down the order though against the older ball when the bowlers are getting tired and they can counter punch.

Vettori was one of NZ's best batsmen for a while batting down at around seven but he probably wouldn't have been as good batting up the order.

Sangakkara likes the look of Kamindu, he probably reminds him of himself, he reminds me of him with the way he bats.

Kamindu might need to start swinging before he runs out of partners.

Does he have a Stokes mode though? It will be good to watch if he does.

What are Sri Lanka doing batting this guy at 7 btw @Silver Silva?

Seems to be seniority is the only thing going for the others over him.
Kamindu not a top order bat and then we have senior guys like Mathews , Chandimal and DDS the Captain at 4,5,6 with very good records ..

It's also the reason why the keeper has been batting unusually high , Kusal Mendis was keeping wicket batting at no.3 vs Bangladesh, Chandimal tried to ease the burden but got smashed on the finger so Madushka is keeping and opening..

Trying to fit everyone until a couple of the seniors retire
