***Official*** England vs Sri Lanka 21st August-10th September 2024

King Kane

International Regular
Woakes bowling that great nagging line and length.

And just as a I speak he gets smashed for four with a short wide one.

King Kane

International Regular
Woakes striking again with another chop on.

This isn't the start that Sri Lanka needed, hopefully they can show more fight after lunch.

Veey disappointing series so far from Karunaratne so far especially as he's the 4th best bat in the series behind Root, Mathews, and Brook.

Where is Asalanka?

He looked like a Sri Lankan version of Lara when he first arrived on the international scene but he seems more of an ODI player than a test player.

Like a lot of countries now they seem to have better ODI and T20 batsmen than test batsmen these days, proper test batsmen are a rare dying breed.

Yeah he's their experienced opening bat and one of maybe 4 visitors I'd have in a combined XI. He was always going to need to contribute for Sri Lanka to have a good chance at the series.

Aravinda de Silva appearing at the lunch break, he was a great Sri Lankan test batsman, he is looking more like Arjuna Ranatunga these days though.
