English Domestic Season 2024

Was looking at the Lancs team last time for the Blast
Salt Wells Jennings Livingstone Hurst Dockrell Croft Green Hartley Wood Mahmood. 6 spin and 2 fast bowlers.. no wonder we lost to N'hants. Breetzke 76 (29). I suppose Buttler will come in for Green.
Still only 2 pacemen. Who would you swap in Aspinwall (4), Stanley (1), Blatherwick (8), Balderson (3), Bailey (0)? (Group Blast games played this season from 11 - 3 abandoned)

Balderson, the others are too hit and miss
There is always Anderson

If they stay up it will be the most noteworthy achievement of the season given the number of players they lost at the end of last year.
Notts going down would be especially sweet for them I'm sure.

Durham played a lot like we did last season against them. Notts appeared to just give up in their bowling effort. Horrendous reading of the pitch.

We have a small squad due to financial issues (Which are documented due to the ground and status of the county) So loan signings are the best way forward for now. We have some decent kids coming through but obviously this will take a bit of time

so are Finch, Gibbon, Leach, Taylor and Waite all unavailable? Allison gone back to Essex? Were Sturgess, Darley, Home and Khan just signed up for the One Day Cup?

Yes to all 3. Leach is retiring. Taylor can't stay fit. Waite not sure about. Finch the same.

Lancashire just announced squad of 14 for tomorrow's match against Hampshire including 3 who are currently still playing away for the seconds in Derbyshire (a fourth was substituted out of that game yesterday). They might be hoping to wrap that game up tonight. Small squad I guess when taking into considering all those who are "managing their workloads".

Keaton Jennings (c), Tom Aspinwall, Tom Bailey, George Balderson, George Bell, Jack Blatherwick, Josh Bohannon, Rocky Flintoff, Keshana Fonseka, Tom Hartley, Matty Hurst, Venkatesh Iyer, Luke Wells, Will Williams

That's a lot to be missing. Would make sense to keep Home involved, at least, as the most successful One Day Cup bowler. Bit harsh on Hinley and Singh after their one day contributions to bring in Virdi over them.

@CartyDurham Ben Raine gets Umeed first ball of the day(before 11!!) after we've been made to field.

Great start when the Kookburra is back to try and ruin another round of the CC.

Two absolutely shocking LBW decisions not gone in our favour @CartyDurham

Goldsworthy was plumb in front on 7 should have been 7/2 (he's still there on 33)

Abell in one of the plumbest of plumbs should have gone for 13, score was at 55/2.

64/2 instead of them being four down. I can't even give the umpire the benefit on doubt on either.

GMno1fan is there for the game, I'm sure he'll be having some stern words with them at lunch

If people were questioning SL's decision to bowl first, the Derbyshire one is looking extremely daft. Sussex 158-0 in the 28th over.

It looks as though the Gloucestershire - Northants match might be abandoned because of a dangerous pitch. Two Northants batters have been struck nasty blows on the hand already.
