BMX is fun but brutal. British woman looks head and shoulders above the rest but anything can go wrong.

I get it, but they interviewed Andy and Dan, and every question was to Andy about Andy.
Dan didn't say one single word.

It was so good that when I got home I couldn't wait to put it on the telly. Sport on the radio when driving can be more engaging as less distractions like your other half or phone. I enjoyed it more when in the car as thought it was following what was happening closer.

Yeah, you might be on to something there.

It's great to see it too though, right?

But yes, with good commentary, I can understand where you're coming from.

Yeah It was good to see how bad the wobbles were as it's hard for commentators to describe how little or big they are on the radio. They mentioned a wobble by biles on the beam but she scored really well, at the time I thought it was a major mistake.

I thought that the olympics had decided on the trans issue some time ago namely that competitors who have gone through puberty as male cant compete against women. Seems fair enough but where is the fairness to Caster Semenya who had her career ruined but did nothing wrong and broke no rules at all and has to take drugs to be able to compete at all [which seems disgracefull]

Interesting to read the thoughts of Steve Bunce, the BBC's Boxing specialist. He said that whilst she's a decent boxer, she doesn't normally worry the best, not a devastating puncher and this is only her 5th stoppage. But clearly he wouldn't know as much about this as JK Rowling FFS!!
Apparently before she threw the punch that stopped the fight, she shouted 'Expelliarmus'.

Makes your comment about Rowling look pretty silly.

It may be anecdotal / misremembering but I'm pretty sure the Australian women have dominated the men in the pool medal-wise since the Klim/Thorpe/Hackett generation retired - which was Athens I guess?
I remember the only real prospect in men's swimming being James Magnussen, and he was a serial choker under actual pressure. Which makes his recent commentary particularly ironic

Australian male swimming suffers from the same problem as other sports here - competition

Go through the list of AFL players and you’ll find any number of elite athletes with the physical traits to make a champion swimmer - tall, lean, fast and endurance

Plus it’s way more fun to kick a footy than to do 10-12 pool sessions a week

Chalmers just became the 3rd swimmer in history to medal in 3 consecutive 100m finals

Does it? Or is that just what you're hearing in the US because the team hasn't really hit its stride yet so the media are filling time with the negative stories? There are always going to be **** things that happen at the games but as the last Olympics was held mostly in half empty stadia with huge question marks about whether it should even take place at all, this is a far happier event.
Nah, I'm just doomscrolling that story, because I dunno. I guess I just see that as the lowest sort of criminal, and it personally disgusts and revolts me at another level.
