Worst Sport/Event in the 2024 Olympics - submissions

Having a nonce among them, really puts a damper on the beach volleyball.

Sorry, I really just can't get over how heinous this is, and the extent that tptb in the IOC, Dutch Olympic committee, and Dutch volleyball are taking to shield him and those involve from questioning and attempt to sweep it under the rug.

Thankfully they couldn't censor the boos given to him in real time, but I'm sure they would if they could, those ****ing pricks.

Walking is probably the dumbest of all the track events.

Agree that the sports which aren't the pinnacle of their fields feel very superfluous here.

Another one I find a bit silly, but for other reasons, is the Heptathlon/Decathlon. I have no problem in theory with these combinations and trying to find the all-rounder. However, from previous iterations it's clear that the injury rate is incredibly high for athletes in these contests and in some ways it ends up being really a contest for who can make it through without injury.

You mean the way in which Katarina Johnson Thompson can get a sympathy vote for failing again?

Sports like football, golf and tennis when the Olympics isn't the pinnacle of the sport don't belong.

Break dancing and skateboarding aren't sports. Feels like the answer given by some boomer in a corporate boardroom when posed the 'how do we get more of Gen Z into the Olympics' question.

The 1500m in the Decathlon is hilarious because of how ill-suited the athletes are for it. Every other event in the Decathlon calls for power, then you've got one completely wildcard event.

Anything scored by a judge. I include Boxing
I'm actually half inclined to agree with this.

I think sports like gymnastics and diving are great to watch because of the incredible athletic feats of the competitors, so I don't think I'd remove them but fair point on the scoring system.
