If anyone would like to call that innings a 'pretty little fifty' under the circumstances of unambigiously rescuing the test match, I'd like to kindly suggest you instead get that idea onto a word document, print it out, fold it up carefully and pop it up your backside.

Is there an injury? I know Joseph has taken wickets, and he's also been **** all series. He's bowled 12 going at 6's. Shamar should have bowled some of these.

Probably even stevens right now isn't it?

Dismissal of the nightwatchman makes the scoreboard look a little worse than it is.
Yeah probably. 280-300 is about what you'd expect from here, and batting last means England probably do need a small lead to break even.

The over/under on England's innings is 354.5, which is almost bafflingly ambitious for an even bet.

Incredible to think that about 3 or so years ago before Root hit a double ton in Sri Lanka that he was about 10 or so centuries behind Smith & co from memory.

Now he's on the cusp of being the outright leader in centuries hit out of the 'Big 4'.

Kohli might not ever even get to 30 test centuries as well.
