Chandrashekhar works as 12th man. Match winner with a good overseas record. Can replace Ashwin or Kumble overseas and the team is still represented by 3 spinners.

Especially Chanders, but I still have a fair few players ahead of him whom I would had included. Simpson, Mitchell, Inzamam, Underwood, Chandrasekhar, Bedi, Lyon, Statham, Willis, Hall, Snow, Philander, van Bijl, Lohmann, Tate, Broad, Greig, Barlow, Noble, Goddard, Rice, etc.

Not sure how many pk fans voted, I certainly couldn't keep up with the thread.
Big surprise to me is Wasim barely making top 20 while considering his whole body of work and not just Tests, but I can't complain since I didn't vote.
Given the names on the list and the rankings, it doesn't look like it took the shorter format into consideration. Also once you eliminate certain categories of players, Wasims ranking looks pretty fair.
Remove specialist batsmen, batting allrounders, spinners and remove bowling allrounders who could bat 7 or higher and you're only left with McGrath and Marshall ahead of Wasim. That puts him ahead of a lot of great bowlers!

Exclude the Top 20 and this side would be as well balanced and competitive as any XI made from the remaining Top 80
I thought I hadn't realised Knott wasn't there when I was voting for Waite, but it turns out he's 44th.
Just stick Waite in there and it still applies.

Brian Statham should be in for any one of those 3 pacers imo. Also, Mitchell or Lawry over Hanif.

Statham is always grossly underrated. It probably stems from being in an era when Bedser, Trueman and Tyson were held in high regard and overshadowed his achievements.
True, he probably should have made the top 100. I will note however, that he averaged 30+ against both Australia and WI, the two best batting line-ups he faced. Given the majority of his career was played in a low scoring era this is a serious red flag.

I missed one vote for Shaun Pollock, which means he is ahead of Steve Waugh now, as they were previously tied. This places the uncle and nephew right next to each other in the poll.
