Cricketer Of The Year
None actually. No one else got any votes in the Final round and the penultimate round, Chandrashekhar got 2 points.Who was the next Indian player on the list?

Chandrashekhar works as 12th man. Match winner with a good overseas record. Can replace Ashwin or Kumble overseas and the team is still represented by 3 spinners.None actually. No one else got any votes in the Final round and the penultimate round, Chandrashekhar got 2 points.
Especially Chanders, but I still have a fair few players ahead of him whom I would had included. Simpson, Mitchell, Inzamam, Underwood, Chandrasekhar, Bedi, Lyon, Statham, Willis, Hall, Snow, Philander, van Bijl, Lohmann, Tate, Broad, Greig, Barlow, Noble, Goddard, Rice, etc.Chanderpaul and Yousuf with long careers and 50+ average didn't make it to top 100. Sometimes CW is harsh on them.
Not sure how many pk fans voted, I certainly couldn't keep up with the thread.Just 5 pakistani players is surprising. Haq, Fazal and Akhtar are notable omissions.
Given the names on the list and the rankings, it doesn't look like it took the shorter format into consideration. Also once you eliminate certain categories of players, Wasims ranking looks pretty fair. Not sure how many pk fans voted, I certainly couldn't keep up with the thread.
Big surprise to me is Wasim barely making top 20 while considering his whole body of work and not just Tests, but I can't complain since I didn't vote.
Excluded for the memes right? He was the unspoken consensus #1

I thought I hadn't realised Knott wasn't there when I was voting for Waite, but it turns out he's 44th.Missed out XI

Just stick Waite in there and it still applies.Exclude the Top 20 and this side would be as well balanced and competitive as any XI made from the remaining Top 80
Brian Statham should be in for any one of those 3 pacers imo. Also, Mitchell or Lawry over Hanif.Missed out XI

Statham is always grossly underrated. It probably stems from being in an era when Bedser, Trueman and Tyson were held in high regard and overshadowed his achievements.Brian Statham should be in for any one of those 3 pacers imo. Also, Mitchell or Lawry over Hanif.
True, he probably should have made the top 100. I will note however, that he averaged 30+ against both Australia and WI, the two best batting line-ups he faced. Given the majority of his career was played in a low scoring era this is a serious red flag.Statham is always grossly underrated.
