Anderson's is one of those careers where the insane longevity both helps and hurts his reputation. He was so mediocre for so long but he's also been amazing for as long as any great pace bowler has ever been which isn't wholly apparent if you only look at his overall numbers.

I think Anderson is proof that with hardwork and persistance you can become world class over time .

Fast forward to November 2025 Woakes can't play in Australia. Wood, Archer, Stone, Tongue, Atkinson, Robinson are all injured.

Who do England call on? Gonna have to hope Potts, Pennington and Cook are able to make the step up.
