Thank You James Anderson- Farewell Thread

International Debutant
Congrats for playing an incredible 189 tests.

Anderson, Broad, Walsh, Dev and McGrath right up there as longevity pacers

I had a short-list of who was going to make the first ****wit post in this thread. I had Shri nailed on as the clear favourite........so boringly predictable.
The thing I find about ****wittery is that it's only as ****witted as you allow it to be. Just a tip for your future happiness in the midst of ****wits.

I was at Jimmy's Test debut 21 years ago, **** me that's a long time ago. Incredible career, I honestly do understand the detractors (who only get as niggly because they get a response) but longevity and consistency are two underrated clauses in 'ATG' status (as much as I think ATG is a wildly flawed concept). To play for 21 years, to take 700 wickets, to keep your body in shape past your 40s, to dedicate yourself to the longest form of the game, those are all things to be celebrated.

If there is a legacy for Anderson, I really hope that it is for fast bowlers to realise that it's not all over once you turn 35.
