Not a stat but a fact, in his entire 17 year test career, Viv has only been a part of one series loss. That's bonkers imo.
Guess he wasn’t good enough to go to New Zealand in 1980..

Anyway similar facts can be drawn up on other Windies players of that era, not really impressive as individual achievements imo.

Bradman aside obvs, Smith has a chance to break Hobbs longstanding number in the next Ashes. Gower, Sobers and Waugh are the only others to surpass 3000, Gower vs Aus, the other two vs Eng, all around 3200. Lara has 2900 and 2800 against Aus and Eng.

Of non Aus/Eng countries, the closest three are:
