Gavaskar really is a league below Kapil and murali in ODI imo. Kapil and murali were the goat All rounder and bowler of odi Respectively.Gavaskar > Murali > Kapil Tests
Kapil > Murali > Gavaskar ODIs
Both disputable. Klusener has an argument and Jayasuriya and possibly Watson do too from the batting all-rounder side of the debate for all-rounders. Garner, Wasim and McGrath definitely have cases for being the greatest bowler.Gavaskar really is a league below Kapil and murali in ODI imo. Yeah initially forgot about Garner. Don't really think Watson, Klusener or Jayasuriya were better all rounders than Kapil dev. Averaging 23 with the bat and 27 with the ball doesn't sound good, but still he is ahead of them in icc ranking systemBoth disputable. ICC rankings are never perfect. They are usually good enough to be a decent indication, but not a crutch to the extent some people use them in rating players.Yeah initially forgot about Garner. I would say Kapil offers a better balance than most ODI allrounders.... Probably? Klusner wasn't much as a bowler and Jayasuriya and Watson borderline part timers. Imo, Pollock was the GoAT allrounder, followed by Dev, Flintoff, Klusner, Khan and Watson. Both disputable. Kapil, Botham, Miller 3 Tier 1 ATGs while not being ATG in either discipline. The assumption in all these threads is that we are primarily talking test cricket. In that case, Murali is the best. Gavaskar 2nd and far far behind them is Kapil. He was not a T1 ATG, the other 2 are.
Kapil is not the equal of those 2 either as bat or bowler. T1 means he'd be a legitimate contender for an AT XI. He is not. Nor can you credibly claim so.Kapil, Botham, Miller 3 Tier 1 ATGs while not being ATG in either discipline.

I'm one of his biggest haters on here and I would definitely take him over Flintoff in this format. Flintoff's big game record, particularly with the bat, is just not good enough imo.Shakib??
Can bat anywhere from 3-8 (dominated at the 2019 WC) and was/is a better bowler than many of those listed.
There is no case for Kallis. There is some case for Kallis as a batting AR (I don't pick him) but there is no valid case for Kapil.
He is. That’s not how you build a cricket team though. That’s also why Imran doesn’t make all the ATXIs despite being a consensus top 4 test player of all time.Kapil > Botham
Kallis is not a contender for AT11, that means he is not Tier 1. And there are people who think Kallis is the greatest cricketer for the last 50 years.
