Headley probably the best WI bat after Richards, Sobers and Lara. And still a comfortable ATG and probably a top 12 player. WI have had some of the richest batting talent in history

Dravid probably the best Indian bat after Tendulkar and Gavaskar. Top 3 beats top 4 you lose Georgie.

Always thought Headley and Pollock were rated as equals on here but Dravid beat Pollock but hasn’t got a single vote against Headley
I find them both hard to rate tbh. I used to have Headley around the top 10-12 and Pollock in the teens somewhere, but now I have them lower, probably just outside or around the top 20 - coincidentally right around where I have Dravid.

International Debutant
Headley effectively played only 2 more years of test cricket than Pollock did
different circumstances - war vs apartheid

we also got to see a declining Headley but not a declining Pollock in tests (though by all evidence he would have great for a very long time).

it’s all splitting hairs here - Headley, Dravid and Pollock are all greats of the game

Johan

International Captain
Headley managed to fight off Tyson and Trueman at their fastest while he was 45+ iirc. Insane talent.
