Two defensive batsmen
I truly believe Headey could ha rivalled those 3 had he played around 70 Test matches.Headley probably the best WI bat after Richards, Sobers and Lara. And still a comfortable ATG and probably a top 12 player. WI have had some of the richest batting talent in history
Me too. Even allowing for the fact that he did sometimes play 2nd eng xi attacks, he was solid vs their first teams as wellI truly believe Headey could ha rivalled those 3 had he played around 70 Test matches.
Dravid probably the best Indian bat after Tendulkar and Gavaskar. Top 3 beats top 4 you lose Georgie.Headley probably the best WI bat after Richards, Sobers and Lara. And still a comfortable ATG and probably a top 12 player. WI have had some of the richest batting talent in history
Great logicDravid probably the best Indian bat after Tendulkar and Gavaskar. Top 3 beats top 4 you lose Georgie.
Hence, Grant Flower (no. 4 Zimbabwean bat) >>>> Neil Harvey (no. 8 Australian bat)Great logic
I mean, surely you couldn’t miss the sarcasm oozing off that post?Great logic

I find them both hard to rate tbh. I used to have Headley around the top 10-12 and Pollock in the teens somewhere, but now I have them lower, probably just outside or around the top 20 - coincidentally right around where I have Dravid.Always thought Headley and Pollock were rated as equals on here but Dravid beat Pollock but hasn’t got a single vote against Headley
Headley had a full test career, Pollock didn’t. Pollock was an amazing player but no way you can rate them equalsAlways thought Headley and Pollock were rated as equals on here but Dravid beat Pollock but hasn’t got a single vote against Headley
Headley effectively played only 2 more years of test cricket than Pollock didHeadley had a full test career, Pollock didn’t. Pollock was an amazing player but no way you can rate them equals
different circumstances - war vs apartheidHeadley effectively played only 2 more years of test cricket than Pollock did
I also think Brian Close was an insane talent.Headley managed to fight off Tyson and Trueman at their fastest while he was 45+ iirc. Insane talent.
