I'm not a complete expert, but:So I am getting training plans sorted for my Youths, and have two questions:
1) I see the trend is to train Fielding early to a certain level, then work on Primary. Why is this?
2) Is it worth doing any Fitness/Strength training before the mid-20s?
*looks for reasons to be petty and mad* ah yeah but he's a medium, so not really that valuable
Fielding also trains technique, which iirc slows down later in age compared to primaries. I switched to a regime of training yoofs to reliable then primaries, then fielding to spectacular once they hit seniors and I'm finding my players have a better primary/technique balance than they used toI'm not a complete expert, but:
1. Fielding trains easier the younger you are. Having crap fielders will hurt your side no matter their primaries. So the goal is to try and get the fielding as high as possible before they hit their mid-20's when fielding traning stops working particularly well.
2. I usually don't unless everything else is under control and their endurance/power looks really bad.
4 weeks in a row. Outrated this guy by only 4k, but posted 203. The only area they had me in in terms of ratings was fielding, and we got dominated early bowling 2nd. Lost by 5 wickets with an over to go. He did have 4 bowlers suited to the surface though, which I think made the difference. I need to pay more attention to the wickets I prepare for each team. Having a home ground that suits the other team more is criminal.3 weeks in a row. This time to a team we outrate by 17k. Lost by 5 runs.
I thought we were a good chance to win this season, but we are 2.5 wins behind first now. Might need a change of tactics.
I don't know what is a good score here. A decent platform has been built, 106/2 in 25 overs on a Dry wicket, and we've got two decent spinners in our attack. Maybe 180 will be defendable.First match for Mooooo CC in the CWP and we are playing the Iron Dragons. Match just started.
I reckon your team will get something around 220. It's easy batting out there.I don't know what is a good score here. A decent platform has been built, 106/2 in 25 overs on a Dry wicket, and we've got two decent spinners in our attack. Maybe 180 will be defendable.
That would require another 91 runs in the last 11 overs! Bit optimistic given we've scored at 4.45 till now, but we do have 8 wickets in hand.I reckon your team will get something around 220. It's easy batting out there.
They're getting a move on now! That would require another 91 runs in the last 11 overs! Bit optimistic given we've scored at 4.45 till now, but we do have 8 wickets in hand.
Ironically, 220 is the target!I reckon your team will get something around 220. It's easy batting out there.
