Match #11 - USA vs Pakistan - 6th June - Grand Praire Stadium, Dallas- Group A

Everyone rooting for the States, wait till you're bombed with chants of USA! at every cricket game ten years from now. Think you can handle Indian and American fans both?
I'm all for it, would be good for cricket to have the USA emerge as a legitimate team with a robust cricket scene that attracts the children of today's immigrants.

Or to put it another way; cricket needs a strong USA.

Amir getting the nod ahead of Naseem Shah was a blunder I'd imagine. Amir bowled well in his fourth over but trusting him for super over was not on

Absolutely comical from Pakistan.

Why did USA sacrifice that wicket surely having 0 wickets was better for them in event of a tie?
Think you’ve probably clocked this now, but the wicket was completely irrelevant, given a tie takes it to another super over.

In a super over how do they decide which end its bowled from and are both overs from that end?
Google says -> "Batting Order: The team that batted second in the original match bats first in the Super Over, while the bowling team selects the end from which they want to bowl"

Simple enough but the phrasing there made my head hurt for a sec.

I've been calling out Iftikhar for ages. Hope this match sheds light on what a fraudulent pest he is in this side. The bloke got out to a ****ing full toss in the first innings ffs. Every side in the world knows that if you put on a spinner early on vs Babar he's going to get tied down. A key issue with this side since last year has been Shaheen's inability to get the same swing with the new ball as before. So without new ball swing, a firing top order, a competent spinner and with a gaping prolapse in the middle order this was very much coming.

Lol call out Babar. It was he who lost the match. Don't even have the guts to come out for the super over lol.

Is the 2nd innings over bowled from the same end?

He'e been called out many times though. Zimbabar, remember the name?

Also, he would have been totally useless given that big hitting was required.

Then what is he even doing in this team? It's T20.
he is going to cash in against some minnows when the time is "right" (i.e. when there are no stakes involved, in a dead rubber etc). Problem is that there aren't too many good batsmen waiting in line either. Its unfortunate.

The only backup batsman we've gone with is.. Saim Ayub. Prep was really a mess for this WC. We didn't test out any of the middle order contenders properly. Had 4 years to prepare between the last 2 ODI WCs and went in with the same issues there too. We can't keep playing C sides in bilaterals and expect to learn anything from those matches. Babar's far too timid and cowardly in tense situations and was shown up by the USA fellas quite easily.

I literally did exactly that in that very post.

Why is he even the captain after the embarrassing WC. Even if he is supposedly a great bat his captaincy is totally negative. He has no sense of tactics and his on field behaviour especially his body langauge let's the whole team down.

He is by far the worst Pakistani captain I have seen and that includes luminaries like Salman Butt.

Neither of us is the chairman of selectors.
