Disappointing from Sergio. More of a return to norm at Ferrari. Rosberg was absolutely right, Aston screwed Fernando hard. Good showings from Lewis but to be frank he got lucky with all the retirements and incidents. rip RB.

Of the lower 5 teams, Haas seems to be the pacesetter atm, Alpine has definitely caught back up to the pack now. Williams car is hard to rate with Sargeant always having issues and being slow, is Albon still performing excellently as last year but the car is relatively worse or was the car just better last year and he wasn’t doing so great as we all thought?

I also agreed with Crofty in commentary re: points. It would screw up historical statistics but idc, points should be being awarded to all drivers, it certainly would make lower order battles more interesting for both spectator and driver, as well as give teams more incentive to fix their cars and get them back out racing.

Almost all major racing series do this - personally my philosophy is: finishing a race should net something more than not finishing a race.

F1 teams are apparently having a meeting considering giving points down to 12th.

Stoked for Danny, great stuff from him. McLaren died on the soft tyre and Mercedes looks awful.

Speaking of looking awful, Williams have asked FIA for a Super Licence disposition - presumably to remove Logan Sargeant.

After turn 1 I was rooting for no points for Hamilton so gj K-mag lol. Great stuff from Ricciardo, hope he can carry it through to the actual race.

Oh good, Verstappen on Pole, tomorrow should be interesting.
One more and he’ll equal Senna’s record for consecutive poles.

tbf while he’s been dominant in the races, he’s been closely challenged for pole multiple times, very impressive streak.

Great result for Norris.

Didn't catch the race as distracted by timezone friendly nhl playoffs, but based off the comms he was the best driver of the day and fully deserved the win.
Yep, he was killing it with the fastest laps...but have to point out that he made hay while the sun shone when the safety car was on...that ensured him a 'touchdown' as we say here in the US.

"I can't get the car to turn. It's a disaster."- Max Verstappen
tbf to him he looked pretty uncomfortable most of the race - for him at least - made a few errors including hitting that bollard.

Was honestly crazy how he was outpacing Max and Charles after they had stopped and he hadn’t. I felt really bad when he missed the pit chance with the VSC - but luckily two of the usual suspects helped him out.

Really well deserved win for him, been a long time coming, doubt anyone is unhappy about this result.

SC and VSC helped out a few others too, notably Hamilton Tsunoda and Ocon. Good to see Alpine get a point on the board, though again Hulkenberg was impressive, almost coming back at Ocon (think Hulk made 2 stops since he was back on the mediums). Unfortunate days for Piastri and Ricciardo.

Very very happy for Lando.

On Max....He lost his rhythm when he switched to the hard tires, which frustrated him...
Piastri's downfall in the scuffle with Sainz was self-inflicted.
The race was enjoyable.

Turns out RB didn’t really need the upgrades. Mercedes is meh, Aston is ass, 3 car race at the front, Hulk is love, Hulk is life.

Something F1 nails, or at least sky sports, is the build up to a race - I mean, 10-15 mins from race start, and all drivers seem perfectly fine giving answers to questions like "how is the car, are you hoping to go fast". Some of the questions are daft AF, but this kind of access is pretty unmatched.

Imagine, CL final, both teams in the tunnel ready to go, "So Lionel, tell us, do you want to score today".

Anyway, just a cool thing about F1 I guess.
