Qadir is probably the most overrated bowler I see on here. His name is often coming up in ATG discussions for Pakistan and now for a decade team, dude was straight up awful.

Dude ain’t even a top 5 spinner for Pakistan.

Would be like picking Warner as an opener for Australia.

Qadir is probably the bowler most carried by reputation alone. To think Benaud included him in his 3 man shortlist for World XI leg spinner, alongside Warne and O'Reilly; or that Gooch called him better than Warne......

Benaud probably only did cos he was legspin biased.

He was, but he also was pretty Australia biased so Grum seems a no brainer over Qadir, or around the 70s/80s there was Chandra, or a more unorthodox approach of Kumble, or even Benaud himself.....

There were definitely better leggies to pick though. Benaud obviously wasn't going to pick himself but even that aside he could have picked Grimmett or Kumble. He must have just liked watching him (which tbf was apparently the sole criteria for his exercise lol)

Finally. I've been saying this for years but to no avail. Qasim was an outstanding orthodox spinner and much better than Qadir outside their home conditions.
