Well talking about 2004 Aus tour ,Tendulkar did exactly the same thing . Didn’t score in first 3 Tests and boosted his average by scoring 241* in 4th Test .

He is NOT better than Viv.

Of course, scaring bowlers is a Good Thing. But this is reflected in Viv's batting average! It's not an extra. If anything, fielding teams are buoyed when they get someone like Viv out (except the batters anticipating facing the quartet sooner rather than later).

Kohli would average 55+ if he played on the pitches Ponting played on. If Kohli has a few more good years, he’s pretty clearly better IMO.

Ponting and kohli feel like the same bat to me. Kohli has higher highs when thing are challenging, and lower lows. But (quality aside, which I'm not addressing in this post), they really feel like the same bat.
