Macartney > Hussey so Hussey was, in fact, not the least bad option available.
Macartney's always an interesting one. He's been forgotten in the batting all-rounder stakes in drafts in the last couple of years, and even beforehand stood out to me as a gun but a departure from the traditional draft canon (even though he was picked rather frequently) -- you don't really see Charlie even being name-dropped in CC all too often. How would you guys rate him vis-a-vis Armstrong?I thought at first he's playing Hussey at 4/5 so maybe more optimal for him context wise. Though if Hill was his first choice..
Personally I think Clem is as suitable a 3 as Trumper is an opener. Maybe even moreso as Trumper has Hobbs as a direct opening peer asking a few questions of his recordJohn Waite

I scanned a few recent general drafts and found Hussey was picked relatively early compared to other candidates, so that's my justification for picking him. When I pick Hill I tend to play him at #5, though looking at his record he definitely was a #3 (although perhaps not a draft-quality one).
Australia:Any chance of a list of players already selected. Country by country would be good.

Yeah I think CricAddict saw you can't pick any SA players that's why he played before youI thought it was @CricAddict now, but he picked before me. Is it @howitzer ?
Hard to rate as an all-rounder; in his first two series he took quite a few wickets at about 20, while not scoring very many; after that his batting average kept going up, but he didn’t bowl very much. If you’re picking him as a #3, he’s only at about Hammond/Dexter/Chappell level as a bowler (but a spinner).John Waite
