Apparently there are rumours that Litton has been dropped for Jaker Ali, which is exactly the right decision. Really hope it's true.

Liton is really struggling in odis. He went on to play DPL today after being dropped and could not score more than 5 runs. His average is like 16 in past 42 games except Zimbabwe, Ireland and Afghans. I just hope they dont drop in tests based on his odi performance.

We gave Tanzid Tamim full WC and then threw him away after investment. I wonder Whats the thought process here? If we had plans with Bijoy then he should have played the WC and Asia Cup before that.

He got 14 games and averaged 14 with the bat, then got dropped. He clearly wasn't good enough for this level ATT. I saw him make some runs in the BPL so maybe he comes back? Hard to say.

Quoting average only does not justify always. Its not so simple. You are a trusting a very young talent with a full WC and giving him the exposure at highest level. Then you cant just drop him. Its not like he looked totally out of sorts. Had couple of good knocks esp against India.
At least he is in the squad which is a good thing.

What about him says he should be playing international cricket? He's got a List A record of 30 @80 and before this BPL when he was getting picked his t20 numbers where also pretty bad.

England did a similiar thing with Crawley, but that was because they had tried everyone else and Crawley was tall and has an ability to drive and score off balls other players couldn't because of his height. Are Bangladesh really in that bad a spot?

We have tried Naim Sheikh and Bijoy before at opening spot as they scored heavily in domestic but they did no justice at this level. Then Tamim Iqbal incident happened and we had to bring Tanzid Tamim in. He built his reputation in the circuit mainly playing in under 19 and endorsed as the guy to be the future in opening by domestic coaches. I don't blame him for not performing straight away because he probably never before played in such competitive cricket. Thats why I thought we did not need to discard him because of his failures in WC. He'll get better only.

We are for sure. There's no one, and everyone who's been tried has been dogshit. I do agree that he deserves to be dropped after averaging 14 in 14 matches though. It's fine to back talent, but when you have a not insignificant string of scores that reads like a phone number, I think you deserve to be dropped just to set some standards.

He'll get better only.
I mean he could hardly get fkn worse!

That we keep going back to Bijoy shows there arent too many. I'm not a fan of making Miraz makeshift opener. So theres

-Liton
-Soumya
-Naim Sheikh
-Bijoy
-Tanzid Tamim
-Rony Talukdar
-Parvez Emon
-Zakir

Liton is in terrible form in odis. So out of these lot I'd pick Soumya and Tanzid. I don't mind Bijoy tbh but he needs a long run.

edit: Forgot about Zakir. Actually I'd pick Zakir over Tanzid
