There are some that doesn't even gets that.... But what's your point anyways?
That its not a noteworthy accomplishment to keep bigging him up on. Bloke barely plays any of his tests. Hell he’s played a lower percentage than other players who get banned. And all in exchange for a bowler who is just his level.

Bro people here credit batsmen for it all the time, and "penalise" (to use your words) batsmen from the 00s in comparison.
the only batsman they use it for is Smith and maybe Root but we had a lot of “well akshually” comments saying how Smith fell off after pitches in Australia got spicier in the recent comparison threads anyway

every opener is considered **** or meh in comparison to previous players, Kohli gets **** on for his post pandemic fall and Williamson is never taken seriously for his away performances

He's not your bro, bro. But you're right.

Which bowler is being penalised?
Jimmy in this thread, Rabada, Ishant recently, Shami etc etc

i dont mind the penalising part tbh, bowlers like Ngidi, Hasan Ali and Thakur have juiced up stats that keep being referred to all the time but there has been a circular logic of “the bowlers are **** because they bowl in spicy pitches” and then “the batsmen are **** because they cant make good scores and cant fend off the **** bowlers we’ve established according to the previous theory” while engaging in nostalgia wanks because cricket fans are the only ones who unironically think their sport is the only one that has defied advances in sports science and professionalisation and regressed

He's the All Time Brainiest (ATB) for sure. There's a Small Hadron Collider inside his head actually which makes his neurons race around faster than the rest of us.

Dravid is legit ATG purely for that 2011 UK tour even if we go to the extremes by ignoring his gun performances in 2000s.

I am yet to see a batsman handling late swing that well.
One series is a alousy criteria to make an ATG. However, I would say Dravid has several mega series that help his case. But he falls short.

All four would have significantly better averages if they played in the 2000s

Is Kohli an ATG for the 2018 double of ATG series in SA(against one of the greatest attacks since the quartet, peak Philander, Morkel and Rabada+Steyn for the first test) and series in Eng vs peak Anderson and Broad(he outscored everyone on horrible pitches, worse than ones Dravid faced in 2011, although David faced an overall better attack)?
