Ashwin vs Lyon. The Brain vs Megamind. Huh never though about it that way. Lyon's brain surely isn't bigger than Ashwin, what's underneath that dome?

Ashwin not being an ATG is really saying that there are no more than 2/3 spinners who are ATGs. 2 of who played pretty much in the same 10-15 year timeframe so essentially 1 ATG in the remaining 100 or so years. Not that there's anything wrong with that stance but frankly by that logic no batsman other than Bradman deserves being an ATG. We really should have 1 batting ATG , 3 spin ATGs and around 40 pace ATGs.

this is what some of the sena fans unironically believe in and want

hell some dont even think 1 of those 3 spin atgs counts because of his action

Who cares about dumb expensive 5-150 style 5-fors anyway. He was a critical contributor to two series wins in Australia and made Steve Smith look like a n00b. Ashwin doesn’t do boring stats like a loser, he just Ash-wins.

I like that you think 5-150 hauls are all spinners are capable of in SENA after Lyon just took a tenfer. With such low standards I guess it's easy to consider Ashwin an ATG.

Precisely the point. ATG spinners are far more rare than ATG pacers given that the pool of spinners is less than pacer to begin with. There are only around a dozen pacers who make that mark anyways and around 15 to 20 bats.

Ashwin fans want to hand out ATG titles like candy in Halloween. Calling Ashwin an ATG is cheapening the term.
