bro it has been an issue for years but it has gotten even worse now

not sure what part of this is controversial

since Kohli was mentioned, he averaged over 40 against spin last year in contrast to sub 30 for the 3 previous years

It's gotten worse because pant is gone. That's literally it imo. Guy was bailing out this team constantly. Iyer just sucks and has been found out, I don't see it as some decline.

I think resting bumrah played a huge part in preparing pitch like this. They were worried without bumrah if they get stuck at least spinners can come into play.

Then honestly, as well as Akash went, we should have played the extra spinner which would have lengthened our batting too.

Root has always been a partnership breaker and this partnership needs to break.

Nah you are just being unfair. He has very obviously not been the same batsman, esp. against spin, since his back surgery. People underrate what the ability to hit 6s at will can do on turners.

Legitimately think if England had gotten their runs quickly, we would've been in a way better situation. That decision to bat time has prevented India from batting much when the pitch was at its best. Attritional batting always works in India if done well.

We lost it in the field. Can blame Rohit / Ashwin / the general think-tank. We always look so lost when a partnership forms, this was another case. First Root/Foakes then Root/Robinson.
