Sehwag equally isn't the undisputed greatest Asian conditions bat of all time. I could make a case for loads of other players.
However, he is clearly one of the greatest ever in Asian conditions. And that point of difference factor gives him a distinguished, understandable advantage and argument over these two.
But for me personally, I tend to prefer versatile players. Especially when ability in conditions where the ball laterally moves is an important examination of an opening bat.

What is clear is that both batsman struggled against the moving ball - swing/seam. It's not easy as an opening batsman, we all know that. But some opening batsman did better than others.
not really. Average, strike rate, massive centuries, match winning knocks. Sehwag was way above them all

Hayden's average in SA is brought down by a horror tour in the 90s. He had two good tours after that. Has more credits there than Sehwag (and Cook).

Analysis by checklist sucks. But here I’m using it ironically
Sehwag only played in 4 different countries, and has an average of 35 in Bangladesh.
Younis played in 5 different Asian countries, his worst average was 45 in Sri Lanka. He scored at least 3 centuries in each of those 5 countries.
Sehwag struggled against 3 teams in Asia. Australia (12 matches, average 35.9), Bangladesh (4 matches, average 35.2) and England (11 matches, average 30.19). He couldn’t score a ton against Zimbabwe or Bangladesh and only has a single ton vs both Australia and England despite playing them over 10 times each.
Younis’ worst 3 teams to face in Asia: South Africa (6 matches average 50.1), New Zealand (4 matches average 46) and England (8 matches average 41.06). He has multiple tons against every opponent except New Zealand, where he has 1 ton in 4 matches.
Younis played more matches, had a longer career, scored centuries more often, had a better conversion rate and was more successful against all opposition in all Asian countries.
And lets not forget when they played head to head (6 matches)

AVeraging 35 across conditions is not remotely as useful as averaging 80+ in certain set of conditions (that covers more than half of the test playing nations btw) striking at 80+ too, even if you only average 20 in 3 countries. Ultimately that is just 1/4th of the test playing nations.

I didn’t realise a SR of 53 was boring to the point of death.
In the matches they played against each other, Pakistan won 2, India won 1 and 3 were drawn. Younis actually put in one match winning performance. The others were won by Dravid and a joint Razzaq/Asif effort (though Akmal won Motm)

Funny, Younis has 10 motm awards, 7 in wins, 5 in wins in Asia. Sehwag has 8 awards, 5 in wins, all 5 wins in Asia. Try again.
