We have Rahul Dravid as coach. Can't be lacking a role model surely. Our Test squad barely plays any red ball cricket outside of Tests. That's a major concern. We need to identify some red ball specialists and ensure they're playing as much FC cricket as possible in between Test series.
Has to be, but we're missing four first-choice batsmen too. The silver lining is two guys in their early twenties have stood up and made tons under pressure, whatever other deficiencies they may have.Is this the Worst batting line up at home since 60s ?
None of the players inspire any confidence.
I don't think anyone underestimates our challenges here. But it's infuriating when bad selection is sat on top of all those issues.Missing 4 of your best batsmen and 2 of your best bowlers, during a transition phase where you’ve lost some other players to form/end of career slumps like Pujara, Rahane, Ishant would be pretty brutal for any side.
2nd most 50s, well done
3rd worst strike rate2nd most 50s, well done
Best strike rate=best team.3rd worst strike rate
This. India are a team in transition and with any team in transition results are going to be mixed.Missing 4 of your best batsmen and 2 of your best bowlers, during a transition phase where you’ve lost some other players to form/end of career slumps like Pujara, Rahane, Ishant would be pretty brutal for any side.
i would rate Dravid more if he wasnt this conservativeAlso Dravid cops a bit too much flak from Indian fans imo. He has had to deal with significant injury issues in every series or tournament since he took over. That wouldn’t be easy for any coach to deal with.
