Don't accuse me of Gambhiring....just explaining that numbers on Cricinfo don't always tell a full picture
Well those career averages are pretty impressive and NZ bats deep when your #10 and #11 average 22 and 16.

Haven't you heard that Australia's famed attack keeps failing to take the 10th wicket until lots of runs are scored so I can see the NZ tail making lots of runs

Career averages for minnow teams like NZ, SL, Ban etc. are meaningless. They play so many lower level Tests against each other or in series no one cares about so the opposition dgaf. Need to multiply them by about 0.7 for an accurate number

Hurricane under-rates Rachin and Mitchell. Both are really good quality players and will come good in the aussie series.

Tbf, new Zealand have some of the friendliest home batting conditions going around right now, and Australian home pitches have been increasingly bowler friendly the past few years. Nz definitely still bat deeper, but I don't think thr averages fully reflect the gap. If you go by away averages in the past two years (fyi, not saying this is a good metric, just the only way I can think of handelling the home

Aus
1 usman 59
2 Smith 45
3 marnus 37
4 green 35
5 marsh 50
6 head 38
7 Carey 30
8 starc 13
9 Cummins 19
10 lyon 12
11 haze 7

nz
1. Latham 35
2. Conway 33
3. Williamson 51
4. Ravindra n/a
5. Mitchell 66
6. Blundell 60
7. Phillips 47
8. Santner 78
9. Jamieson 10
10. Henry 43
11. Southee 16

Yeah 2 of the 3 most in nick Aissies are opening, which is bold.

I mean they'll all be in nick after we bowl them into it bit it's a bold move.

Excellent theory, pity it's wrong though. The last 32 test opponents of New Zealand (since Nov '19):

England - 9
India - 5
Pakistan - 4
Bangladesh - 4
Australia - 3
South Africa - 3
West Indies - 2
Sri Lanka - 2

None of them care when they play NZ mate. England, India against NZ are going through the motions, nothing like when they play each other or Australia when they go full oomph. South Africa are demonstrating how little they care right now sending a D side.

Even this series Australia aren't going to go full tilt after the 12 months they've had. Don't get me wrong, NZ will still lose, but their players will perform a lot better on paper than they really are with the Aussies going half pace at them.

No way will an Aussie ever play half-hearted against a Kiwi side. You need to be banned from ANZAC Day if you don't get that lol
