***Official*** West Indies Championship 2024- Regional 4-day competition

I see Jason Mohammed, the number 4 batsman in TT's lineup in the middle now...but only 1 wicket down for them. It appears that Vikash Mohan is retired hurt

Beaton gets hist second wicket, Jyd Goolie for 3 (16), LBW

TT are 32/2 in the 15th over.

Over in Jamaica, the start of play is delayed.

Lunch

TT 58/2 (27)

Leewards 61/6 (22). They are still playing because they started late.

In Jamaica, the Scorpions are 28/3 in the 12th. Kirk failed with the bat, making only 10

Captain Blackwood goes for 14 (18). Not looking good for Jamaica, they are 43/4

So, in the 3 matches actually taking place right now, we've had 4+6+2=12 wickets down (along with 1 retired hurt) and it's not even 1/3rd of the day completed yet.

Windies cricket is back!

5th wicket down for Jamaica

An interesting stat to follow : of the 13 wickets that have fallen so far, 12 have gone to pacers;1 to a spinner.

Pace:
- Johann Layne (WIA)-1
- Nyeem Young (WIA)- 2
- Joshua James (WIA)- 2
- Shermon Lewis (WINW)- 1
- Ryan John (WINW)- 2
- Shamar Springer (WINW)- 2
- Ronsford Beaton (GUY)- 2

Spin:
- Joshua Bishop (WIA)- 1

Still early on in the matches for spin to make an entrance. It just shows our batsmen's flaws, throughout the board.

Some poor batting so far.

Hurricanes no more than a gentle breeze.

Scorpions lacking sting.

This debutant leggie, Sankar, has been bowling long hops after long hops…giving the momentum to the Trinidad pair of Mohammed(75) and Webster(26). The foundation is set for a big score.

Right. Time to watch some of this. All games available on YT so I'm not sure which match to concentrate on.

@SillyCowCorner1 as a neutral which game would you recommend?
I’d recommend staying with the Guyana-Trinidad match. The rivalry is fierce.

And we have quality players from both sides, although we are fielding 4 debutants.

Also, we are the defending Champs. Harpy Eagles.

Tea Time: TT 170/3 (60)

If I was the skipper, I wouldn’t give Sankar another over in this innings. He looks out of sorts…could be the nerves on debut…a leg-spinner at that too. Pressure.

Switched over to the Leewards v WI Academy game.

Leewards have fought back a bit after losing 6 wkts for peanuts.

136/8 (51)

Jeremiah Louis is hanging on with a tough 44*; with his is Netherlands National player, Daniel Doram on 0*

I have to say, over the past 2 years the Academy team has been playing good cricket. They have a formidable squad with an inspirational captain in Nyeem Young.

I expect them to go far in this competition.
