I reckon if Morris is going to bowl at 140 or so rather than trying for higher he needs to learn to bowl an outswinger. I'm actually surprised that bowlers don't try more often to add new deliveries.
Seems to be a skiddy bowler who bowls too shortLance Morris looks like someone who is 'speed gun quick' as opposed to actually quick. No one had any problems with his pace, even though he's hitting mid 140s. Compare that to Joseph, who apparently hit the same speed but the way he bowls, it feels on you much quicker. I made the comparison with Ben Sears in NZ, who hits 147-148 at times, but I've never seen a single international player hurried by him. Didn't see much to get too excited about with Morris.
My friend who coached Bartlett and Neser believes that there’s only 2 ways to be successful as an international quick bowler unless you’re tall and can get seam/bounceI reckon if Morris is going to bowl at 140 or so rather than trying for higher he needs to learn to bowl an outswinger. There's a few guys who are skiddy, bowl short and make it work - Neil Wagner at peak being the obvious one.Seems to be a skiddy bowler who bowls too short
Those guys rarely cause too much trouble
Bloody hard (not impossible, but hard) to add shape to your bowling action without a significant remodelling. That comes with its own risks of struggling in the short term, and falling out of selection favour. Kinda like a golf swing, might be best in the long-term but there are short-term costs to be incurred.I reckon if Morris is going to bowl at 140 or so rather than trying for higher he needs to learn to bowl an outswinger. I've heard that he deliberately bowls a bit slower in limited overs cricket as he wants better control there. Which I get but I'm not sure is the right strategy.I mean the main concern for me was that he just wasn't that fast. It was like that first BBL game he played where he just sort of ambled in and sent it down at 138km/h rather than trying to push 150km/h which I assume is how he's made his name in the Shield (where at times he had looked genuinely too fast for many batsmen)
I'd be extremely surprised if team management wasn't just telling him to bowl as fast as possible and damn the consequences. If they aren't doing that then they should.I've heard that he deliberately bowls a bit slower in limited overs cricket as he wants better control there. But yeah, I've long been a bit concerned that Morris is a bit of a one-trick pony. Which sucks because he's the only young quick with FC experience that has genuine X-factor. The others are all fine bowlers but don't feel as special as the current lot.
Yeah, I doubt the West Indies have bowled out Australia even moderately cheaply in an ODI in Oz for a long time, possibly as far back as 92/93.We have been terrible at ODi's for most of that period, though it is a surprise that the side with Gayle, Chanderpaul and Sarwan in didn't burgle at least one. Shows how bad our bowling was during that era.
Today's side is essentially a B unit at best in a format that we suck in even at full strength. Hence why, I don't hold out much hope for the next 2 matches. Alzarri is our only world-class ODI seamer, so we could do with him playing.
Harsh to judge a young player on limited views but it’s CW so **** it.I've heard that he deliberately bowls a bit slower in limited overs cricket as he wants better control there. Which I get but I'm not sure is the right strategy.

His mental strength rating was only in a 30% lower percentile, he's working on it by partying and playing fortniteFrom what I've seen Spencer Johnson is better than all of them. I really would like to know what exactly is going on and why he isn't playing in the Shield game literally right now.
Well apparently he's joined the squad as uh, cover?? Since RESTING is now apparently on the menuFrom what I've seen Spencer Johnson is better than all of them. I really would like to know what exactly is going on and why he isn't playing in the Shield game literally right now.
The highest level of the adult film industryYeah Johnson looks ready made for the highest level
lmao wutBartlett also rested from 2nd ODI
Meredith has always swung it. His problem in the Shield that when he was fit he was usually going for five an over. Simply stating traits does not a good bowler make when control is lacking.Harsh to judge a young player on limited views but it’s CW so **** it.
From what I’ve seen recently, I rate Meredith above Morris as he’s quicker and has started swinging it
His biggest weakness is availability
