Sydney should be a day/nighter too tbh. Would at least stop the bad light delays

I’d make the majority of test matches here day nighters. Maybe the Boxing Day test doesn’t need to change

It honestly feels churlish that we're complaining this much about the team - even if it's deserved - given that we were also all complaining about the competitiveness and standard of cricket before the summer started and this is fantastic viewing right now
I was hoping Pakistan would jag a test, but they just threw it away each time they getting ahead.

My complaint is that I see people saying this is a great team (not on here, but elsewhere) when the batting is super brittle and the bowling tactics one dimensional. We missed a great chance win an away Ashes and humiliate BazBall, and with the batting India is going to be a serious test again.

They're quite scrappy. It's certainly been interesting watching but it feels like the results this summer have been flattering.

They need to come up with a ball that doesn't go soft as quickly and can reverse swing first. The red Kookaburra for the past year or two has been distinctly better than in, say, the mid '10s, but the pink ball still dies after not too long.

He needs to be given the mental clarity to actually commit fully to whatever shot he's trying to play. So many of his dismissals are because of him sort of half-hearting it and not quite being sure if he's made the right decision. It's not quite as simple as getting him to bash some more Shield attacks.
Agree with this. We know he can dominate the Shield. Sending him back to do that more doesn't seem like a solution. He needs to find a way to be confident at the top level and maybe playing ODIs is the way to do that. A couple ODI tons on the big stage might fix him

Yeah I think the nervousness stems in no small part because he's representing his country. Cementing a white ball place could do a lot for that.

One Micky Mouse pink ball test a year is more than enough.

WI's fielding has gone to pieces. Carey doing very well targeting Sinclair, who so far is not looking at all like a bowler for Australian conditions.

I reckon two in a six test summer, one a series, would be good.

But they need to improve the ball first.

Unironically both sides should look at promoting one of their tail up the order looking at this wicket. Looks a really different one to bat on after about over 15.

Early career Nathan Lyon would do a job, sort of Gillespie-like. Unfortunately after the first few years he gave up on that and became a carefree slogger

i like the post sydney tests for it because people by then are going back to work and kids are gearing up for school, not competing with big bash and so on. way better for engagement imo
