A 10 minute gap is acceptable as not being a jinx@mackembhoy with the breakthrough.
Matches don't get more exciting when 1 run is required for a tie with 1 wicket in hand and mankads are going on.Just seen the result in the NZ game.
WTF?
I was just coming on to ask where in DLS scenario are we.Looking unlikely there will be any further play in the SA/Eng match, puddles now on the outfield and rain still falling.
England are actually 35 runs ahead on DLS.
Actually, these matches mean quite a lot. Yes the top 3 go through, but you carry through the results. So if Eng beat both SA and WI they will be in poll position for the semis. They will be joined in their Super 6 group by Aus/SL/Zim (assuming they all beat Namibia). Top 2 in each Super 6 go into semis.I was just coming on to ask where in DLS scenario are we.
Shame as no real jeopardy with the top 3 going through so winning this way isn't that helpful for the rest of tournament necessarily.
Cheers should have had a proper look instead of spouting rubbishActually, these matches mean quite a lot. Yes the top 3 go through, but you carry through the results. So you can almost call a couple of semi finalists from these groups.
The truth. Do you have a theory as to why? Probably $$$, and lack of it.think Afghans beat England in the warm-ups, so I'd say it's an upset for nz who are usually mediocre-to-poor at age group level.
I think the more you refine the selection criteria, the more a small population becomes a hinderance. But, we are usually still way worse even than that explanation. I mean Windies are next smallest and they have won this comp. The truth. Do you have a theory as to why? Probably $$$, and lack of it.
Yeah this is totally correct. We were very luck to cobble together 92 runs. The Afghanistan attack consisted of multiple spinners who were either "mystery spinners" or at least had a couple of variations (leggie with a wrong un, SLA with a quick arm ball, etc). They all seemed to bowl pretty fast and flat and targeted the stumps and the batsmen never seemed to know which line to play. While in the second innings. I'd have to say the kiwis were bamboozled for about 7 of the 9 wickets that fell. So I'd say there's a skill gap in Afghans favor, and they totally crapped the bed (early) to lose this.
Law 38.3.1.1 now reads: “The instant when the bowler would normally have been expected to release the ball is defined as the moment the bowler’s arm reaches the highest point of his/her normal bowling action in the delivery swing.”That's one funky Mankad. Seemed like he'd entered his delivery stride so I'm kinda surprised it was given out
