All a bit arbitrary, but smith's numbers since pac bowling averages dropped in 2016 and Tendulkar numbers from debut to the start of the 2000's batting era are very similiar. Tendulkar is 5850 runs @56.7, Smith is 5947 @57.7.
Looks like it's predicted to come in Saturday. Match might be over by then.Meanwhile don't look now, but looks like Brisbane's about to pull a Sydney....
But if they do lose a couple of days they might want to rush a result or get a "game ruined by rain" reputationI'd be surprised if the deck was overly spicy this year. They wouldn't want to get a dodgy deck reputation by serving up two day games two years running, especially with India next year and the Ashes the year after and the scheduling being a lot more volatile than it used to be.
While it’s always an utter **** hole of a place, Brisbane in January generally plays easier than late November- early December. Last B-G series a classic exampleI'd be surprised if the deck was overly spicy this year. They wouldn't want to get a dodgy deck reputation by serving up two day games two years running, especially with India next year and the Ashes the year after and the scheduling being a lot more volatile than it used to be.
The weather here is horrendous atmwelp
Not sure why Maxwell needs a rest in the ODIs over Head who is playing all 3 formats.Fraser-McGurk (and Xavier Bartlett) added to the ODI squad
I love JFM's vibe but it's a big call. There would have to be dozens of other domestic bats over him on pure output
Head does even more than that. Bats at a higher position and also bowls equally. Not sure why Maxwell does a lot of things tbh
Not to be dramatic but 35C at 90% RH isn't horrendous, it's borderline uninhabitableThe weather here is horrendous atm
On Friday and yesterday, it was 34-35 degrees with 90% humidity which apparently is the equivalent of 42 air temperature
Rain is dependent upon direction cyclones take up north
You can't even come close to melodrama with the conditions up there. I don't recall it ever being as horrendous growing up in Brisbane, just getting from A to B feels like walking the Kokoda trail. Not to be dramatic but 35C at 90% RH isn't horrendous, it's borderline uninhabitable
Brisbane always feels warmer due to its inland location whereas at least the GC usually has coastal breezes to keep things in check but hasn’t been that way recentlyYou can't even come close to melodrama with the conditions up there. Visited over Christmas for two days and it's almost convinced me that I should never move back. There's nothing like taking a step towards the shower, already getting drenched from your own juices, stepping out of the shower, patting yourself down and you need to do it again, and and again. And by the time your clothes are on, they're already drenched too.
All this by 10am. Getting back off the plane in Sydney was a certified delight.
