I hate Talksport's cricket coverage- it's so poor, I probably won't bother listening.

Andrew McKenna, Harmison, Gough 😢
I wouldn't listen to Talksport but I wouldn't listen to TMS either - it isn't like they have a great set of commentators or analysts.

Same process every time - Sky will sign it up with about 3 days left when the price drops to an acceptable level.
Could easily be Disney+ that ends up carrying it right? In which case they wouldn't so much be "buying" them as porting them, as they already own the actual broadcast involved.

TMS isn't quite what it once was, but that may be just me getting older 😆.

But it's still far and away the best radio coverage in the UK.

Not sure how that would work. The Disney+ app isn't setup for anything other than TV Shows/Films.

Be a bit short notice to change their entire app.

It'll be either Sky or TNT, just can't see anyone else bidding for it. Prime have shown no interest in cricket thus far. I suspect it's probably only Sky showing an interest but they're going through the usual dance.

They've picked up sports rights in the past in other markets.
I can't think of anything in the UK that's been on there unless my mind has gone blank.

Whatever it takes!!!
I dunno, has that guy ever said that pitches are doctored?
ah.. gotcha.. misinterpreted your post reading off the phone. The doctoring stuff is mostly just internet and media whinging (which, tbf to Gavaskar, is basically what he said). But the double standards and the actual ICC definition of a good pitch even right now are just so stupidly anglo-centric. I am really not sure how else to put it.

Not in the UK. Maybe elsewhere.

Hotstar which Disney own had the IPL UK rights in 2019. But they ended up going to BT Sport last minute instead.

Then Sky took them back for 2020-2022. Then split with DAZN for the one just gone, no idea for this one coming.

RE the India test series Sky had them in 16-17 and Channel 4 in 2021.

India cricket rights are not with Disney or Hotstar now, I think. Its with Jio.

I think you're forgetting the classic episode of Duck Tales when Scrooge McDuck scored a gritty 100 off Huey, Lewie & Dewey.

I think the ICC definition is fine tbh, but people love to interpret it as far more fast bowling friendly than it really is. Where apparently not opening with fast bowlers is essentially insulting to them.

Nah i honestly think it's bullshit, those definitions or guidelines.

One good decision by management. They have decided to give up on the KL Rahul test wicket-keeping trial and will have one of Bharat/Kishan(if recovered from break)/Pant(if recovered from injury) keep in the England series. Would have been a nightmare for KL to keep to Ash-Jaddu-Axar.
How was Rahul's keeping in South Africa? I saw his amazing drop in that Markram innings, but was that how he acquitted himself generally? (Obviously not much keeping to spin to comment on, of course.)

It's slipped under the radar just how bad he was in the WC final and how much letting through all those easy byes really took a lot of scoreboard pressure off Australia at the start of their chase.

He dropped one of Ashwin too I think. Overall not great considering he’s had enough practice over the duration of the WC. I would rather he keep than we make a spot for Bharat tho.

I mean how? Honestly, what is wrong with the definitions as given both for the new guidelines or the older ones?

Can we stop fitting in players who are worse for the specialist roles? Bharat is a keeper, let him keep.
